Synopsis

After witnessing his mother's brutal rape and murder at a young age, Jeremiah Hill turns to a life of seclusion in a small mountain town. Six friends enter the town for a weekend camping trip and stumble upon Jeremiah's lonely cabin in the woods, which shatters his 33 years of solitude and turns their trip into a nightmare of survival.

All of the dialogue is as stupid as that line. I don't know what kind of person writes dialogue like this, I've really never seen a movie with this level of shitty writing.

Gary Busey makes a three minute appearance and it's the funniest thing ever. Lucky for us, there's YouTube and you can see just those three glorious minutes.

I was 18 when this movie came out. It was shortly after high school, and one of my female friends, who I did not know for any kind of appreciation of horror, told me that she and her friends had rented A Crack in the Floor and that it was the worst movie she had ever seen, but that I needed to see it. I filed that away, but I was 18 and had to see all of the Cronenberg and Lynch and Argento and Fulci movies I had not yet seen. I didn't have time for "worst movies" yet.

Completely wonky and probably terrible, but enjoyably schlocky, weird and amusing from start to finish. Gary Busey and Rance Howard knew exactly what type of garbage they were making in their cameos.

Potentially scary concept is undone by a repetitive atmosphere and an over-reliance on tropes. None of the characters are memorable and most of what happens feels confusing. Overall, a mostly lifeless exercise.
Towards the beginning of this movie I was thinking why is Mario Lopez in this glorified home movie? But then I saw his reaction to a death scene and figured it out, because he can't act. I'd definitely leave this one off my resume if I was him. Or if I was anybody involved in this production. Also Gary Busey is in this. Can't wait to forget this.
Bill Erwin was a treasure.
